Terms of Service
EFFECTIVE JUNE 16, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Gradis, an AI-guided learning service for children aged 10 to 15, operated by Gradis Private Limited (referred to as “Gradis”, “we”, “our”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who can use Gradis
Gradis is intended for use by children aged 10 to 15, with a parent or legal guardian as the account holder. You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of the child to create an account on their behalf. By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms on your child's behalf, and that you consent to your child using the service under your supervision.
2. What Gradis is, and what it is not
Gradis is a thinking practice space. Your child has conversations with AI coaches that ask questions rather than hand out answers, builds a real artifact over time, and reflects on what they learned. It is not a tutor, not a homework helper, not exam preparation, and not a replacement for school.
The AI coaches are not human experts. They are language models tuned and prompted by Gradis. They can make mistakes. Anything they say should be treated as a prompt for your child's thinking, not as authoritative fact.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe. Do not share them with anyone outside your immediate family. If you suspect unauthorised access, write to founder@gradis.ai and we will help you secure the account.
Each subscription covers a specific number of children (one for the Standard plan, up to three for the Premium plan). Sharing access beyond the children listed on your account is a violation of these Terms.
4. Subscription, billing, and trial
New parents receive a 7-day free trial. No payment information is collected at signup. On day 8 the trial ends and access is paused until a subscription is set up. Pricing is plainly listed on the Gradis website at the time of subscription.
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via PhonePe Payment Gateway (RBI-authorised payment aggregator) using UPI Autopay or another method we may offer from time to time. By subscribing you authorise Gradis to charge the method on file at the start of each billing cycle.
You can cancel any time from your parent dashboard or by writing to founder@gradis.ai. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy for the full refund rules.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Gradis to attempt to extract, copy, or scrape the underlying AI prompts, training data, or any internal system content.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to break the security of the service or any related system.
- Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Use the service to harm your child or any other person, or to bypass age-appropriate safeguards.
- Resell, sub-licence, or commercially exploit any part of the service without our prior written consent.
6. Content your child creates
Your child owns the artifacts they create on Gradis (drawings, writing, code, recordings, anything else they make). You grant Gradis a limited licence to host, display, and process this content for the purpose of running the service for your family.
We may use anonymised, aggregated data about how the service is used to improve the product. We will never sell or share an identifiable child's work or conversations with third parties for advertising, training, or any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Gradis intellectual property
Apart from the content your child creates, everything else on the Gradis platform is owned by Gradis Private Limited. This includes:
- The Gradis software, source code, AI prompts and prompt templates, tool definitions, pedagogical frameworks, and curriculum design.
- The Gradis brand, name, logo, marks, and visual identity. The word mark “Gradis” and our logos are trademarks of Gradis Private Limited.
- The website, app, design, layouts, and user-interface elements.
- All documentation, marketing copy, and editorial content (parent reports, FAQs, blog posts, and similar).
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Gradis service for the personal, non-commercial use of your family during the period of your subscription. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sub-licence, reverse- engineer, or create derivative works of the Gradis software, AI prompts, brand, or any other Gradis-owned material without our prior written consent.
If you believe any content on Gradis infringes your intellectual property rights, write to founder@gradis.ai with the details and we will review.
8. AI and accuracy
Gradis uses large language models from third-party providers (currently Anthropic for Claude, and OpenAI for content moderation). These models occasionally produce inaccurate or unexpected output. We review and refine our prompts continuously, but you should treat any factual claim from a Gradis AI coach as a starting point for your child's research, not a final answer.
9. Content moderation
Gradis is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We apply automated content-safety moderation to text your child sends to the AI coach, currently via the OpenAI moderation endpoint. The moderation flags content categories including sexual content involving minors, content promoting self-harm, harassment, hate speech, and violence. Messages that trip the moderation are blocked from reaching the AI coach and surfaced to us for review.
Outputs from the AI coach are guided by the prompts we author and by the safety training of the underlying model. We do not run a separate automated filter on every AI response, so the system can occasionally produce content that is awkward or wrong; treat anything the AI says as a starting point for your child's thinking, not a final word.
Automated systems are not perfect. If your child's legitimate message is blocked, or if a piece of content reached them that shouldn't have, write to founder@gradis.ai with a brief description and we will review. Decisions that materially affect your child's use of the service can be escalated through our Grievance Officer process.
10. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account if it is used in violation of these Terms, including any unlawful or abusive use. We will give reasonable notice and a chance to address the issue, except where immediate action is needed to protect users or the service.
11. Service availability and changes
We work hard to keep Gradis available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance, third-party outages, and bugs can cause downtime. We may add, change, or remove features over time. Where a change materially reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you in advance.
12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided on an “as is” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Gradis Private Limited will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of the service. Our aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period will not exceed the total amount you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded for a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other applicable Indian law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and posted here with a new “effective” date. Your continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra. Before filing any claim, please write to us at founder@gradis.ai so we can try to resolve it directly.
